The Local Government Association (LGA), the Planning Officers Society (POS) and the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) have prepared a concordat to demonstrate their joint commitment to Planning Aid and to invite other authorities to share that commitment through practical action.
The concordat, suggests that local authorities provide support to the Planning Aid service in a variety of ways including:-
- raising awareness of Planning Aid
- engaging with local Planning Aid services
- encouraging and supporting local authority staff to volunteer for Planning Aid
- Helping to fund local Planning Aid services
